Kind of in love with my necklace.
I have been wanting one JUST like it forever and could never find one I loved enough.
And then a few weeks ago, I walked into my thrift store, and there she was.
With a $1 price tag no less.
I think God may have made it just for me.

My oh my, whatta week peeps.
I made it through eating clean and healthy….and yet, I am the most bloated I have ever been!!!
I have a feeling the plumbing is all confused with this sudden change of diet….so I’m thinking a Zevia with caffeine may be in order.

So….a little update on something NOT gross.
We had our interview with the social worker, and now we are waiting to hear from the placement social worker to see if she is willing to take the steps to put this child in our care.
It’s tough, because there are already foster homes in place that don’t need to be background checked, fingerprinted and all that, (like we still have to have done), so he could just easily be moved to one of those.
And I know that these social workers are super overworked….so often times they end up doing just that….whatever is easiest.
I’m just hoping that with all the prayer that has been surrounding this particular situation, that it will work out EXACTLY the way God intends for it to.
It’s hard though, because my heart just wants him safe, and I know my home will be just that for him.
But….I have to let go and let God….ugh.
I hate christian-ese sayings.
I can’t believe I just wrote that!
It’s just that there have been several times this week where I have woken up in the middle of the night worrying and thinking about it all.
And instead of losing sleep, I have had to imagine myself taking these thoughts and literally placing them into his giant, capable hands….
and I guess I’ll just continue to do that until everything is done and settled.
Isn’t waiting fun????

Walked into Plato’s Closet, found nothing, walked outta Plato’s Closet! My local store is so not the place to shop. You look so fabulous, as usual! Those Mary Janes are simply adorable. Now I wanna pair!! :o)
There is nothing better than finding an adorable necklace at the thrift store! I just got a a few for my mom at an auction that were super adorable, 5 in the bag for $4!
Waiting is horrible but hey, at least you look fabulous while you are doing it. 😉
Gorgeous outfit, girl! That necklace is fabulous, and for just a $1? I think one of my favorite things is the shoes, though. Killer shoes. I think what you and Jimmy are doing by trying to be able to take care of this little boy is SO commendable. You guys would have an amazing impact on his life, and I am really hoping it ends up so you can be a part of his life right now. Can’t wait to hear how it all goes. Do they anticipate how long it will take to get all the paperwork and stuff done?

Second: I was born and raised Catholic and now I don’t know what I am and keep going back and forth about whether or not I believe in God, but there are times when I wake up in the middle of the night worrying about something and I always whisper out loud, God please worry about this for me tonight. Instantly I stop worrying and fall back to sleep. Maybe that means I still believe a little? I don’t know.

c) I really hope this foster situation works out for you. I know God will do what is right, but I just feel like the best place for this child is with people he knows. I was a foster parent for 12 years, so i know full-well all of the hoops you are jumping through…not fun.
Will say an extra prayer for you right now.
I have friends who did this exact same thing (trying to take in a child they knew, even though they weren’t foster parent approved before the need arouse) and they were approved and did get the little girl and raised her until she was 18. It all worked out exactly as He planned, and it will in this case too. A child is always better off going to a home where people already love him, and social workers know that… All my love and prayers coming your way!
