where in the world is fashion friday?

So, here’s the deal.
My new thing I was thinking for Fashion Friday’s was rather than show what I wear all the time, I could start to showcase other people’s style instead once in awhile.
So, last weekend I scheduled someone to guest post Fashion Friday and I was bouts to just kick back and watch and learn from her amazing ways.
And then just today I discovered she couldn’t do it anymore.
Sadness.
Being the lazy blogger that I am, I had nothing prepared for back up. Nothing.
I don’t even much feel like going to Polyvore to put something inspiring together….because….
I’m too tired.
I have a headache.
I just pooped.
Oh wait….you’re not my husband.
Just kidding.
Anyway….I’ll get back on track next week.
Apparently I can’t maintain resolutions and goals and have the energy for blogging/fashion at the same time.
What gives?
Who am I anymore???
On a positive note…
{always good to end there}
so far so good with my new goals for the year.
Granted it’s only the first week, but already I made it through with no t.v.,
{At night. I did watch Glee during naps one day. But, it was just ONE DAY!!!},
read an entire book and a half….
{finished the Alchemist, read Momzillas},
And….did my best to stay in each moment,
while attempting to make the most of whatever happened.
Now Guru Summer has spoken,
go and be in peace.
Word.

fight the break of dawn…..

I wrote this last week in my Notes App on my iPhone….
from bed,
probably around midnight.
I just remembered it, and thought I’d share.
~~~~~~~
It’s the night I love the most.
The stillness.
The silence.
I know I should be sleeping and yet so often I hold out because I know my soul needs to.
I simply want to freeze time so that it won’t pass me by.
The tomorrow with it’s usual
it’s commotion
it’s busyness….
Sometimes it just seems too much.
So, in this moment,
when the rest of the world sleeps…
I breathe.
I relax.
I think.
And I grasp on to it all until my eyes are no longer able to continue the fight.
{via text from my man saying goodnight…lol}
Aweeee….
P.S. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway worth $150 big ones! You have a chance at youth in a jar! Take it!
can you feel the love tonight?
Honestly, when I started Le Blog, my only thought was….I need to write.
And then I thought, hey! Maybe other people will read it!
And ya, that would be really cool.
But, I never thought, ever….that I would “meet” people that could eventually become friends.
I mean….not that there’s anything wrong with that…but, um….
{image of chat rooms, and closet freaks…and…}
Anyway.
Needless to say, it happened to me. I met a friend.
Several actually, and mush mush mush……is all I can say about them.
I guess God can work even through the internet.
Huh.
Imagine that.
So, most of you know my affection for one such friend,
Laceyloowho of Lacey in Love.
I was drawn to her blog because of her incredibly sweet spirit. There is only kindness there….nothing mean, or icky, or yucky hearted.
Just pure goodness.
All in a, she doesn’t even have to try, way.
Kinda not fair. Because she’s freaking adorable too.
But you just can’t hate her.
And to make things worse, she’s a triple threat because she is INSANELY talented.
{just look at her etsy shop!}
I can prove it too….I mean, just look what she sent us for Christmas this year.
{In this adorably decorated package…}
{…was this shirt made especially for Chloe…}
{…and this shirt made especially for Taylor, which he put on IMMEDIATELY! And now wants to wear daily.}
And then….there in a little gold box was this ring:
{BBB rings…she has one too}
I know, can you believe the LOVE?
I got tears in my eyes when I received her package, because #1,
she went to the Post Office.
At Christmas Time.
FOR ME!
I mean, that just shows how serious we really are.
And #2,
it was one of the most thoughtful things anyone has done for me….
and I just swoon over thoughtful things.
So, since one of my goals for 2010 was to become better at sending Thank You cards….
Consider this my first one of the new year.
Lacey, my love,
Thank you.
For the amazingly thoughtful and sweet lil gifts you sent.
And for your constant love, encouragement, and friendship.
You are truly a gift from God.
Mwa.
Mush mush.
two oh one oh, inspiration & no freaking t.v.
Two Oh One Oh, what up!!!
Seriously guys, I am OBSESSED with this new decade.
I mean, I feel alive and awake and like things are ‘bouts to happen ’round here.
It just feels good to be taking control of my thoughts and mind, and making the most of what happens to me.
I read this quote in The Alchemist that kinda inspired me too:
I don’t live in either my past or my future. I’m interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you’ll be a happy (wo)man.
Don’t you just love that?
Theme of this year, for sure.
{sick of the peppy ‘tude yet?}
Moving on….
It’s the first “official” night of no T.V. and it happens to fall on the season premiere of The Bachelor.
Hmmmph.
That’s okay, our T.V. rule only applies to Mon-Fri evenings.
So come nap time tomorrow….I may just be popping on some good ol reality tv.
Maybe.
I just don’t know if I can handle that guy.
I mean, really….sweet as he is….he is still a way HUGE cheeseball.
Never been into cheeseballs much.
Cheaters maybe.
Unforgivers, totally.
Uncommitters, heck ya.
{All before Jimmy, of course!}
But, cheeseballers….ick, it just kinda makes me want to throw up a little bit.
I have to be choosy too about what I watch during the day, because I only get one to two hours for nap time, so what I watch better be worth my precious time.
Like Glee. Mmmmm, sweet goodness Glee.
I have to say though, I am really loving the no T.V. thing.
We had a few trial runs last week, and Jimmy has seriously TRANSFORMED.
I mean, he is reading BOOKS!
Like with words and information and stuff.
And he’s alert and alive and getting smarter and wiser by the second.
Before the change, this is what I sat next to most nights:
Good times, right?
As for me, I’m not missing it nearly as much as I thought I would.
Maybe that’s because I still have my afternoons….or maybe it’s because for the first time all freaking day long, it’s SILENT in my home.
I love love love silence.
I get to think and reflect and actually write lengthy posts about really not much at all, and in the end, really, it’s YOU ALL who end up reaping the benefits.
Haven’t I always said it’s always about you?
P.S. Did you enter the giveaway worth $150 big ones?
monday muse fashion
~Le Outfit~
Faux Leather Jacket: {F21}
Top: Miley Cyrus/Max Azria {Walmart I know, right??? I got stopped out a few weeks ago by two different women asking where I got my top, and I was only slightly embarrassed to tell them. Oh well, it’s cute.}
White tank: Le old
Jeans: Citizens of all Mankind {Buffalo Exchange YEARS ago}
Booties: Steve Maddens {TJ Maxx}
Necklaces: Vintage {handed down to Chloe when her great grandma passed away. I’m keeping them company.}
Ring: Gifted from my BBB, Laceyloowhoo. We have best friend rings cause we are in love. {I spied in F21 if you’re desperate for one.}
~~~~~~
So, guess where I wore this to?
Church.
Mmmmhmmmm…our church rocks, and I love that I can wear ripped up jeans and it’s no biggie. Anyway, you know what they say about chicks that wear ripped up jeans, right?
They’re more hole-y. Holy. Get it?
Ba dum(b) ching.
I’m here all week guys.
{It’s okay, I’m totally rolling my eyes too.}
But, seriously….these jeans are probably my most favored pair, and they are definitely showing the signs. I’m not sure how much bigger the holes can possibly get before it’s time to make them cut offs….few more years?
They’re about 2 sizes too big for me (depending on the day and the meal), but they have served me well over the last 7 years. I’ve worn them before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and now after. So comfy, so cute, so me.
Not that I think I’m cute. I didn’t mean it to sound like that. Um…..
Anyway….
In other news:
Make sure to enter the Perricone MD giveaway, because on the chance you didn’t win one of the other TEN MILLION giveaways on the other blogs, this could actually be your chance.
Also, because I’m working on some big changes within (my soul) in this new decade, I’ve also decided Le Blog needs a change as well. And I’ve enlisted my most favored and loved web designer to start with the design.
I thought about switching to WordPress, but I just can’t do it. Why fix what aint broke, right?
Maybe one day.
When I’m FILTHY RICH. Seriously, do you guys have any idea how much it costs to hire someone to switch you? I’d need, like, way more sponsors and maybe some hefty donations from some of you.
Actually….. =)
We can talk more about that when/if I ever make the switch. No need to worry now.
For now, just be looking out for a new look.
And enjoy the first Manic Monday of the new year.

perricone md cold plasma cream fiends…another giveaway

Ya, so what’s up my peeps?
I’m sure you’ve heard the word on the street (blogs) is that Dr. Perricone is kinda bad A and his giveaways are rocking the free (blog) world.
And as I’ve said before, I’m never a fan of missing the bandwagon. 😉
{via}
So, when they, ahem….finally discovered me and offered to gift me AND one of my readers an entire jar of the INSANE and TOTALLY POPULAR Cold Plasma cream
(found at my totalstoreobsesh, Sephora),
I was all….
“Well, how much are you going to pay me?”
And they were all,
“Um, nothing. You get the cream.”
{$150 value, people!}
And I was all,
“Ya, so that’s cool.”
Or something like that.
However it went, I was quickly convinced because everything I ever do is for the pure and utter happiness of you.
{As long as it somehow benefits me in the end. Honest.}
So, because you should know the science behind the product…here are dirty deets.
If you don’t much care for the science and just want to look hot and young because these products totally WORK….skip to the directions on how to get the gift.
~~~~~~~
Correct the 10 signs of aging
Cold Plasma is a universal skin care product; suited for anyone, no matter how old your skin is, what your skin type is, or whether you’re male or female.
Cold Plasma works through a patented ionic (i.e. charged particles) suspension carrier system which allows for your skin to extract from Cold Plasma’s formula according to your individual, unique needs. This personalized system, called biochemical individuality, is a self-selection process charged by phospholipids, major cell membrane components. Phospholipids are fat derivatives which help lock in moisture, because phosopholipid bilayers have hydrophilic(attracted to water) heads facing outward and hydrophobic (mix poorly with water) tails facing inward toward each other. The phospholipids in this formula help direct needed nutrients where they can be effectively used through the cell membrane. This means, if any of the ingredients aren’t needed, they just won’t be utilized.
Cold Plasma works through this system to deliver optimal nutrition to skin cells to help skin achieve a healthy, glowing, youthful appearance.
It does so by helping combat the 10 signs of aging, which include:
    cold plasma
  1. Firmness
  2. Elasticity
  3. Clarity
  4. Radiance
  5. Smoothness
  6. Texture
  7. Redness
  8. Blotchiness
  9. Fine lines and wrinkles
  10. Dryness
Beyond the unique delivery system, the key sciences behind this product include:
  • Advanced neuropeptide technology to give anti-inflammatory effects, which assist in slowing the 10 aforementioned signs of aging.
  • DMAE to help stimulate nerve function, thus causing muscles under skin to tighten, providing a lifted and firm appearance to sagging skin.
  • L-tyrosine, an amino acid, brightens skin to help radiate a youthful glow.
  • DHA, to support the preservation and hydration of skin
Okay, you want it right?
I know, me too.
Oh wait, I get one too.
buck up and move on!
Jan 2, and so far so good…..
Jimmy and I had our date night last night (which we saw Avatar in 3D, and it was only totally AWESOME!), and then when we got home we sat and talked about our accomplishments of 2009….it was nice focusing on the positive.
Made me realize that while we had some tough times, there were some GREAT moments that came out of it all.
Then, we wrote out all of our goals for Twenty-Ten and talked about how we were going to make it all happen…good stuff.
We cut out out our pages and then taped them on our individual sides of our bathroom mirror in our bedroom, so we can always be reminded of them.
Already I’ve been challenged….as of this morning I felt the sting of hurt from some people I always considered friends….
but then I immediately remembered I had a chance to make this moment different.
So, instead of focusing on what I was “missing” out on, I took a second and remembered what I DID have.
Other incredible and amazing and DEVOTED friends who are there and always HAVE BEEN and always WILL BE….no matter where I live or what I do.
And THOSE are the girls that I will be dedicated to growing even more with this year.
Crazy how that works, changing your mind and thoughts and all that.
I mean, woah.
Look out Twenty-Ten, there’s a whole new Summer coming through.
Btw….it definitely helped to finish The Alchemist AND watch Avatar both on New Years Day….
Um, so HIGHLY recommended, I can’t even begin to tell you.
And because I can’t end a post without some adorable pictures….
Please enjoy some cuteness from the holidays.
~~~~~~~
{Can you tell they’re related?}
{Checking out her singin n dancin bear}
{Going to see the “lumerants,” that’s what Jimmy calls them, in the wagon}
{Showing off his “dinosaur”}
{Santa’s little elf}
Could you just die?
Love those kids.
P.S. I’m never one to enjoy missing a bandwagon, so stay tuned tomorrow for a little gift giveaway for one of you lovely readers.

there may have many hairstyles, but one thing never changes

Whew….these are just SOME of the pictures I found from the last decade,
and while you will see that I have had many hairstyles/colors,
one thing will always remain the same….
Making faces for the camera makes me….me,
it makes me happy.
And I will never ever stop.
No matter how many times my sisters ask me to.
Anyway….
Happy New Years from all of me (in a non schizo way) to all of you!
