"emotional veil"

Im reading this book, Rewriting Your Emotional Script, and it’s been on my mind a lot. As I closed the book after reading the first chapter the other night, I started to pray before I went to sleep. I wasn’t even praying about what I had read, but this one phrase kept coming into my mind.

“Emotional Veil”

Now days later, I still can’t get it out of my head. My thought is that it relates to how I see truth. Or what I perceive to be true anyway. I’ve been realizing that in growing up I have allowed myself to believe things based on my emotions or based on what others have said or thought about me. And that really, it’s not how God intended me to see things at all. I know that God created me to be a certain way and that he gave me this life for a reason, and unless I see things the way HE sees things, I am not really living out the life he planned for me to have.

I just need to find a way to see the truth through the “emotional veil” that has been sewn together, stitch by stitch, over the years. Guess it’s good that I’m reading this book. 😉 © 2008 “Le Musings of Moi”

7 reasons you gotta love being pregnant

I didn’t always enjoy my first pregnancy with Taylor. It was all so new and different. More so painful and not fun. But, this time around I knew what to expect and though I’ve had rough patches, I think, dare I say…I may almost like this pregnancy.

So, I wanted to write out all the things I enjoy about being pregnant lest I forget them in a few weeks.

1. There is no dieting allowed. And you HAVE to eat more calories. How can this not bring happiness?
2. I can wear things that otherwise wouldn’t be “cute.” See number 3…
3. I can let it all hang out…like wearing my 2 piece or a tight dress and not having to suck it in! I am really loving that!!!
4. Sleep is important, and naps are expected.
5. I can’t change the sheets so thats one more chore I must pass over to Jimmy.
6. I can’t bend over the bath, so I can’t bathe Taylor or the dog….another chore to be passed on.
7. For once you can blame all your issues, tears and irrational behaviors on hormones for 9 WHOLE MONTHS!

I’m sure there are more, but I’m in my third trimester. Maybe I should have written this in the second.
😉

***Update: To be fair, I did write this weeks later….Many More Reasons I’m Not Loving Pregnancy****

free toothpaste, WHAT??? how to save money with coupons:

It’s really all about clipping coupons and keeping an eye out for sales. Ralphs has made life a little harder now that they only double coupons up to $1.00. But, you can still find great deals and save lots of money.

My aunt Candy asked me to post my “tips.” So, here they are! Keep in mind, I’m not an expert by any means. This is just what I’ve found and tried over the last year. But, I’m always up more more ideas if you have them.

Tips For Saving Money
1. Buy the Sunday Paper and pull out all the coupons and store ads
2. Look in the mail for grocery store circulars
3. Save coupons (items will go on sale usually 2 weeks from time coupons come out)
4. Stockpile items
5. Buy things on sale that you have a coupon for
6. Try to clip coupons that are at least .50 or more
7. Key things that go on sale and you get for free: toothpaste, cereal, granola bars, juice, pasta sauce

What stores have the best deals:
Target – Paper Towels & Toilet Paper (cheapest & good quality) Target Brand, cereal
Henry’s – Fruit (Double Ad Wednesday)
Trader Joes – Fish, lettuce, Z Bars
Costco – Chicken breast, cheapest cheese sticks, milk, eggs, bread
Ralphs – Double Coupons, takes expired coupons (most of the time)

Where to find coupons:
Sunday Paper
Online Websites
