dr oz metabolism busters

Okay, so I watched Dr. Oz yesterday, and like a good girl, I took notes.
As we get older our metabolism is starting to slow down…and we may need a little push to get things moving in the right direction.
{funny that the first thing is fiber…hmmmm}
Anyway, here’s what he said WORKS!
~helps keep you full longer
~take 2-4 30 minutes before meals with LOTS of water
~most potent natural fiber
~stabalizes hormones (HELLO!)
Shiratake Noodles aka Miracle Noodle
~Asian Markets and online
~no calories (what the?!?  sign me up!)
~high fiber
~keeps you full
~helps burn fat
~take once a day
~500mg 2x a day
~helps keep you energized
~make sure to take Vitamin C with this
~keeps carbs from being broken down into sugars
~take with meals that contain starch
His advice?
Don’t take them all at once.
Try just one at a time for a few weeks or so, so that you can really see what really is working for you!
I don’t know about you, but I’m getting some of those noodles.
No calorie pasta what?

  1. Tell us how the pasta is! Noodles made of mushrooms is not up my alley! Please say if they taste like mushrooms!!

  2. Ooops. lol I guess they’re not made of mushrooms… Negate that bit, and still tell us if they’re good! =D

  3. Summer! I’m glad someone is on the ball and listens to the experts! I’m going to try the Raspberry keytones. I’m going through my own little weight loss struggle…. (not a bad one) but I hate it! I hate that I can’t eat anything but egg whites! {the things we do to fit in our wedding dresses!} Anyway, thanks for the info, and I love your blog! I think we could totally be friends. 🙂

  4. i LOVE those noodles! They are yummy and pretty much take on the flavor of whatever you cook them with. Don’t let the smell when you open the bag turn you off…wash them, nuke them and it’s way better. But, one things-they have calories. But at 40 cals for the whole bag? I’ll take it!!! 😉

  5. just checked it out..those noodles are quite pricey online! gonna go see if they are cheaper at th chineese food market

  6. Hey Summer! I was looking for more info on the noodles and found this page: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/products/p/shiratakinoodle.htm

I think for me the tofu kind would probably be better because the regular noodles tend to be slightly slimy in texture, which would make me gag! I searched for Skirataki noodles in the google shopping section and they had some for sale for $2 a package! I think the “Miricle Noodles” are overpriced because they know people are willing to pay high prices for low carb diet foods! I am sure you can find some of these at an Asian food store like 99 Ranch or Mitsuwa in the Kearny Mesa area near Convoy.

  7. Thanks for sharing these Summer!!! I’ll def need to try these out! My hormones are so out of control and I really don’t want to go on any meds for it. I would love to be able to balance them out with diet and supplements =)
