i’m cuckoo for coconut

I know I’ve been leading you guys on about my hair miracle for awhile now,
and I meant to blog about it earlier…
It’s just…
I,
ya know,
haven’t been blogging.
Maybe you noticed?
Anyway, I am hoping that quite soon I can get that blogging feeling back,
at least somewhat….
but,
in the meantime,
it’s actually kinda nice taking a break.
So, back to my hair miracle.
Coconut Oil.

This stuff is amazing,
and if you don’t believe me,
go to makeupalley.com and check out the rave reviews!
How on earth have I gone this long without it in my life?
Okay, so here’s how I did it:
First, I went to a health food store and bought the extra virgin, organic, and unrefined Coconut Oil…
about $10 for a big ol’ jar.
Then I went home and rubbed it through dry hair almost up to my roots, but not all the way.
After that I stuck a shower cap on,
sexy I know…
and went on about my day for the next two hours.
Then I headed into shower and washed and conditioned as usual.
Let me just tell you…
my hair was literally THE SOFTEST it has ever been.
Cray-zay fabu stuff people.
Apparently, coconut oil is one of the only products that can penetrate the hair shaft
(she said)
so it’s able to repair damage.
Or so I hear.
Now, I’m no hair scientist….
quite the opposite really…
More like a real life beauty school dropout to be honest,
but I do know that my hair was in the best mood ever after this treatment.
So….I’m just sayin.
And then….
When my sister Heather came down to visit,
she had the Coconut Oil Hair Shine from The Body Shop,
pd_coconut_hair_shine
and I decided to put some through the ends of my hair
(which happen to be the driest, obvi),
and oh. my. good. gawd.
It was as though the heavens opened and the Hair Gods shined down upon my split ends….
So, yes, I ran right out to the Body Shop and bought some of my own because I didn’t feel like my life was complete without it.
And it wasn’t.
Imagine that.
But wait, there’s more.
Turns out, coconut oil is kind of amazing for other things too.
Like eating it for health benefits.
Or wearing it on your face for moisture benefits.
Got Keratosis Pilaris?
Um, ya…coconut oil could be your cure.
Some are even convinced it can prevent gray hairs….
So. Totally. Amazing.
So, go on, try it and let me know what you think.
Your hair may thank me.
