how to do the tracy anderson method

Catchy and creative title, right?
I know, I’m crazy clever.
So, I really love health & fitness posts on other blogs,
like MASS…
and I got to thinking,
“Hey, I might have something to add.”
And while I’m no expert, I definitely know what I like.
And I’m finally starting to figure out what seems to work for me.
At the moment.
Because if you know me,
you know I get bored and I like to switch things up.
But right now,
I am TOTALLY digging the Tracy Anderson Method.
It just seems to be the kind of workout that suits me and my body.

Plus, I kinda wouldn’t mind looking like that…
Okay, so now you’re thinking….
“I might be interested…tell me what I should do.”
And I’m thinking,
“OKAY! I will!”
{If I sound delirious, know I am fighting off the flu. Again. I blame any bad writing on that.}
Okay…actually,
what might be easier is if I just tell you what I’ve been doing or plan to do in the weeks beyond.
{Always at nap time….}
Week 1:
Start with Post Pregnancy DVD and follow up with Dance Cardio.
Week 2:
Start with Dance Cardio and follow up with Post Pregnancy DVD, using ankle weights for the leg portion and the moving them to my arms for the weightless arm portion.
Week 3:
Start with Mat Workout and follow up with Dance Cardio
Week 4:
Start with Dance Cardio and follow up with Mat Workout
Week 5:
Week 6:
Start with Dance Cardio II, and follow up with all three webisodes
Week 7:
Start with Perfect Design I and follow up with Dance Cardio II
Week 8:
Start with Dance Cardio II and follow up with PD I
Week 9:
Start with PD II and follow up with Dance Cardio
Are you seeing a pattern here?
Pretty much follow this same pattern using PD II and III….
And then start all over.
That’s what’s so great about these workouts,
there’s enough out there that it lasts two months or MORE,
and then you can start back at the beginning.
This mixing things up helps so you continue muscle confusion,
which is essential so that you don’t plateau.
Very important.
Also, if you find after 2 weeks using the same video that you are still kinda feeling challenged,
I would think it’s safe to say,
{in my non professional opinion}
go one more week and then switch it up.
But when it starts to get easy,
it’s most def time to move on!
One more thing….besides all her videos and webisodes,
you can find a TON of things online and on YouTube to add in for variety.
I posted an arm workout here
she also has a fun lil treadmill workout,
and a trampoline routine…
just to name a few.
Her Facebook page has a plethora of ideas and information if you take time to read through the posts.
And I have all the free online webisodes along with other workouts of hers in one place here.
Tracy recommends that you do her method 5-6 times a week,
and I actually do at least 5.
But then again, I LOVE to workout.
Or at least I love to do her workouts.
You’re worried about the time commitment, right?
I know.
But listen…
I have three kids,
and here’s how I do it:
I put my two youngest down for a nap,
my oldest gets quiet time,
and mama gets her workout.
If something is super important you CAN find the time.
Tomorrow, I’ll write about food tips that have seemed to help me…
in case you want to know that too.
=)
Look at me…
next up I’ll be doing seminars.
Ha!
Tracy, I’m available for hire.
{believe it or not, I was not paid or given free things for this post, although, I wouldn’t mind doing so in the future.
Ahem.}
