blog + twitter = blitter

And that’s how I came up with the title of my random post.
It’s math people.
I mean, after 7 years of being married to a physics geek,
it was bound to happen that eventually I would get smart.
So.
I have many thoughts.
And I know how you guys like to keep up.
Blitter will help you do just that.
So, without further adieu….
~ In tradition of trying to find the positive in sucky things:
The good thing about being stuck at home for two weeks due to sickness is…
when you’re finally better and you get to live life again, you kinda think life is AWESOME.
~~~~~~~
~ I am on DAY THREE of being back on track with healthy eating….i.e. no sugar/gluten.
I can’t believe I let Ellen get ahead of me.
Now she will totally think this was her idea.
~~~~~~~
~ After watching Food, Inc….Jimmy, who made fun of the whole idea before putting it on, was the first one to the store the next morning to buy free range chicken, grass fed beef, and organic raw vegetables.
And then he made us the most incredibly healthy and delicious meal ever for dinner.
Now, who was the skeptic again?
~~~~~~~
~ Now that I am eating healthier, I feel like I should hug a tree.
Or maybe, even, grow a tree.
Or at the very least, try to keep a plant alive.
Baby steps.
~~~~~~~
~ Believe it or not, I am still trying to decide which initials to get on my Valentines Day gift….
Seriously, I’m starting to lose sleep over this freaking necklace.
I have issues.
And if I had more than 45 minutes in each therapy session, I’d probably bring this up.
~~~~~~~
~ Jimmy taught Taylor how to ride his bike without training wheels on Super Bowl Sunday. And that is why I love having a husband who doesn’t watch football.
~~~~~~~
~ Jest wanted to let my reeders no that if I hav mispelled a werd on my posts,
their is know need too correct me anonymously…
we are all grown ups here, and I’m always okay with a litle help now an than.
{Sed too the anonymous commenter who helped me with woe is me.}

~~~~~~~
~ Every time I take my vitamin d, I sing to myself….
“I got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine….woah, oh oh oh…”
Makes complete sense, right?
Vitamin D = Sunshine.
I am so clever.
And so on top of math symbols apparently.
~~~~~~~
~ Jimmy and I are applying for our foster care license, so we can hopefully care for that little boy I mentioned last week.
This coming from the girl who was so sure she ONLY wanted two kids.
Oh God, you tricky guy, you.
~~~~~~~
~ After watching the first half of Jersey Shore on Sunday
(yes, we’re behind the times since giving up weeknight t.v.)
Jimmy announced he will now be called “The Happenin” because,
“That’s what’s happenin’ right now!”
And then he did this move that involved both hands and a thrust of his pelvis.
He also continued to end each sentence with that phrase for the. rest. of. the. night.
Jealous?
~~~~~~~
~ Speaking of the husband.
He’s been asking me for weeks if he should shave his head with no attachment rather than his usual 1, and I continually spoke with wisdom telling him no thanks.
But then in a moment of weakness (I was on the phone) he asked me again, and to get him to shoo, I uttered the words….”ya ya, whatever you want.”
Which everyone should know in busy speak means: “No way, not in a million years!”
{I mean, it usually works with Taylor when he’s asking about using scissors and knives….}
Anyway, twenty minutes later I see this:
{never leave a man unattended with his clippers}
{a beanie is better than a scarf, right? Watch Grey Gardens and you’ll understand.}
~~~~~~~
~ And because we’re trying to become foster parents, I feel the need to say I was TOTALLY kidding about scissors and knives.
Ahem.
  3. I have tried for years to keep plants alive and it just isn’t my thing.
    I have been so unhealthy for the past week and I am really feeling gross. IF the snow doesn’t ruin my plans I am heading to the store on my lunch break to stock up on good food. It amazes me how awesome I feel when I am eating healthfully.
Second, I am praying for you, your family, your foster child and the entire process that you are working through! You are amazing to open your mind, family, and heart to someone- I cannot tell you enough how much I admire you for this! And lastly, I got a new twitter @lovebrunch so I will be heading over there now to follow you! xoxo
  25. Hey! What’s wrong with a shaved head? Dave’s shiny bald head makes me want to lick him but that could just be our thang. Ha!
    Good luck with the foster care sitch. That’s so awesome of you!
  26. Wow, I’ve missed alot!
    It looks freakin awesome over here, girl!
    Good luck with the foster child! Our pastor had 3 families with foster children speak a couple weeks ago, and we both left feeling like thats something we want to do. It is incredibly sad that there are children that have to live like that.
  27. Congrats on the clean eating! I’ve been hearing it makes you feel SO much better, so I think I’m going to walk into it slowly, baby steps. It’s amazing though… when you change to healthier habits, you kinda just meld with nature more. I’ve noticed that just in my Yoga practice. Weird. I am NOT a tree-hugger, but sometimes I feel like one.
    Good luck on the foster parenting! What a rewarding thing to do.
  28. Fostering sounds like a great plan… there’s plenty of love to go round. I’ve just signed up to be wildlife carer – felt I needed to do my bit. Props to you Summer!
  29. Wow, good luck with the fostering! And don’t worry- men’s hair grows quickly ’cause they don’t have to grow it much.
  30. Glad to read you are feeling better! And, um, who does NOT have typos on their posts? I have one or two in EVERY post. Good luck on the Foster application! What is wrong with scissors? 🙂
  31. What an awesome foster mama you will be!
  32. OH my you have one of the biggest hearts I have ever encountered. Good luck…praying praying.
    I just told you but WOW I LOVE the new bloggy look. Gorgeous, just like it’s owner.
    Cheeeeesy. 🙂 XOXO
  33. Stopping by from SITS. Oh my freaking gosh. I LOVE this post! It’s so awesome! I may borrow the idea for my blog!
  34. Food, Inc. Is this something I can rent? I just got some cookbook about heart healthy foods – can’t remember the name, but I’ll talk about it during my food week – and it’s amazing all the benefits of fruits/veggies/grains, etc. I’m slowly but surely steering farther away from the more processed stuff. I loved all these little random thoughts.
  35. Vitamin D is amazing, I discovered it while living in Alaska. I went from feeling lethargic and sad to feeling amazing, after just a few days of taking it.
    I think you and your husband will make awesome foster parents, God bless you guys for doing this.
