I always go through these seasons…
I’m either obsessed with shopping for new clothes or I’m obsessed with re-decorating my house. They never overlap, and there is no rhyme or reason as to why one starts and the other stops….
I had a feeling the switch was happening last month, when I went to le Mall and I felt….
nothing!
Nada.
Zilch.
Walked out bagless…empty handed.
And then wham!
FULL redecorating mode hits like a tornado.
Only, with no money.
And um, no house.
I just can’t seem to do too much with the apartment, given that I’m not sure how long we’ll even stay here.
{Please God, don’t let it be long.}
If I could though, I would sell everything we own (except for our bed, which I looooove) and start completely over. In fact, the moment we move again, I’m going to do just that.
It’s taken years to figure out my home decor style….trying this and trying that….and while everything seems great for a season,
I realize….
eh, not so much me anymore.
But….
This time, this time is different.
{I promise you, Jimmy!}
I have found my home.
I mean, when I saw the pictures, I had a moment.
And it was like Jesus was opening his arms and saying,
“Welcome home, dear child.”
Or, ummmmm….
something like that.
I have begun my inspiration book for decor ideas, and all you will see on the inside are these:
Ohemgee!!!! Just had another moment.
The grays, with the black & white, and soft touches of pink?
The glass and crystal and chandeliers???
The zebra print rugs and fresh flowers?????
I have found my heaven.
My home.
This is me.
Welcome.
Must. Move. Now.

See THIS is where I am obsessed! House fashion – as I like to call it. Just picked up a couple of pieces of furniture this arvo to add to my growing collection. If it’s not furniture, it’s vases or sculptures or (my biggest weakness) vintage jewelry!

Okay…so, I’ve had the intention of oilpainting a canvas just like Molly has in these pictures for the last 2 yrs. I think InStyle at home showed these pictures and I totally fell in love! I love the look of the clear table with the greys & zebra!!
it is gorgeous, but the first thing in my head was “she must not have kids”. i have realized that i am destined to shop at target/ikea until the kids are gone and the pets have “gone to live on a farm”.
My word of advice. Start buying slowly now. Because when you do buy a house you will be flat broke when you move in. Nada, zilch, zero. Buying a house is EXPENSIVE in the beginning.
You are so funny! I too am trying to decorate my home with no money! It’s not as hard as you might think though. There are about 11 million blogs about home decor on the thrifty side with soooo many great ideas!

My husband is always teasing me about which “mode” I’m in, either shopping for new clothes mode or shopping for home decor mode. I have no rhyme or reason for mine either…funny how that happens!

Love all of it, but I don’t think my boyfriend would let me use a color scheme like that in our house. Although I do like or sage green living room and my butter yellow office quite a bit – I’d love to do our bedroom in grey someday when we have the money for different furniture!
Must be in the air… I just moved to a new townhouse this weekend (UGH, moving blows). I’m only renting one room, but I totally want to get bizzy with it, and the bathroom! On the hella cheap, of course… college-student budget, and all 😉

Oh, I love all of it. I do not have one designer bone in my body, and I am jealous of people who can make a house a home. We bought our house in MAY, and I still have not really decorated because I do not know where to start. I painted ONE room. That is it. Sad, I know. I Just want someone to come tell me what to do OR, better do it all for me!

frakking gorgeous!!! gah! i rent, and am on a small budget, so i can only do so much with home decor. but new pillows, new curtains and new bed stuff had me doing a jig (well, practically) over the holiday break.

i’m all about decorating right now! i just purchased all new light switch plate covers for our kitchen/dining room…not a huge deal but it makes a big difference and it wasn’t cheap! next up, some more wall decor 😉
