So, the story behind this picture….
A few weeks ago, a girl was attacked while running the trails behind our complex.
The guy was a smart one looking for drug money, and who better to mug than a girl running?
Luckily she had mad skills and she busted him in the nose and he ran away like a little baby.
I bet she had a killer back tattoo.
Anyway, the next weekend when I got up to run, Jimmy was all gung ho about making me wear and flash his tactical knife to every person I ran across.
I then made this face and held up my, ahem, “guns”….and was all like,
“Um, are you seeing this?
I mean, seriously, do you see what I see?
I am NOT a girl to be messed with.”
And then he saw the error of his ways and allowed me to run without the knife.

Hubby is always trying to make me carry a knife. Like even in the house, when the plumber or cable guy is supposed to come he sets the knife on the bed before he leaves and just gives me “the eyebrows”. I laugh. I mean seriously, am I supposed to go to the door with preschooler wrapped around my leg, a toddler in my arms, and a knife in hand? Scary!
hilarious. i mean, you look cool and you do have some serious gun action going on. the tactical knife IS a little over the top. but he just wanted to keep his sweetie safe, and that, you can’t argue with.

what a scary situation to be in, but amazing that the woman was able to defend herself. if i were in the same situation, not sure if i could defend myself. i would like to think i would, but the fear that he would have a weapon might stop me from doing so. props to you for being prepared. i have a hunting knife in my car, only because men were attacking women in parking lots at grocery stores a while back. be safe and take care.

oh my gosh, if I was running with a knife, I would be the scared one! I feel like SOMEHOW i would magically make it open and fall on it or something…
I think it’s safer for me NOT to have weapons, I’m more likely to hurt myself than an attacker. I just practice aiming my knees in appropriate places!

Ha! I run with mace, but more because I’m afraid of running into a moose or a bear than a mugger… I could totally take a mugger, but I’m pretty sure a bear would school me!
And here all I was worried about was some guy flashing me. I’m sure I would fall on that knife if I tried to run with it.
