Sometimes I look around at my life, and I’m like….what?!? Really?!?
How am I married?
How do I have two kids?
How do I have a grown up life???
How am I in my 30’s???
It just doesn’t seem like I’m really an actual grown up who is responsible for other people’s lives!
Sometimes it just feels like I’m playing grown up, ya know?
I was thinking of this as I enjoyed my birthday the other day, because I realized that there will just always be that little kid in me.
The little kid that wants to feel special on her birthday.
That wants to be celebrated and loved upon.
Anyway….getting off topic here.
So, just to show you how I am still a 16 year old in a 31 year old woman’s body, I’ll tell you my birthday gifts….
A Forever 21 Gift Certificate (I’m 16)
A Sephora Gift Certificate (I’m 31)
A weekend away from the kids in LA (I’m 31)
A night to myself to watch The Hills & The City (I’m 16)
Ahhhhh, the inner conflict that resides inside me.
All this to say….
I am kinda dying inside now that the Hills & The City are over for the season!!!
What will become of me?
How will I live not knowing if Brody is engaged?
Are Justin Bobby & Kristen really together or is it all fake for the cameras??? Because did you see them on the after show? Sooooo didn’t look like they were into each other. But ew, if it is fake…who would kiss that for money??? I’m thinking it better be love that drives someone to want his homeless looking piece of a#$.
{In all fairness and christian guilt aside….I’m sure he’s a lovely person that God created too.}
I can’t even get started on those two people who’s names rhyme with Shmiedi and Fencer….ew. Just ew.
And then The City???? Well…um, okay so not much drama there, but still I need it like I need air. The NY fashion…ahhhhhh…..
I have no City. I have no Hills. I have no Tori & Dean. I have no Rachel Zoe.
Who am I anymore?
Weird that Jimmy would suggest to me that maybe we should “fast” from TV for awhile? Wonder why he would think I need to do that?

Haha, Jimmy wants you to go on a tv fast? Foolish man! What would become of all of the people who live inside of your tv and rely on you to care about them in order for survival? Gah, so selfish Jimmy.
i have been having similar withdrawals from my reality shows. have you seen the previews for that new fashion design show on bravo? i am going to give it a try.
I have a feeling that I am going to feel like a half teenager/half adult for the rest of my life.
Forever 21 will always be my favorite store, assuming I can fit into their clothes and I’m not saggy and wrinkly in them.

I, too, feel like I am playing mommy most of the time. I miss Tori and Dean and Rachel Zoe… and let’s be honest, I love Gossip Girl.
You know, I have a similar internal struggle. I think in a way, we all do.
I found your blog from SITS and I’m so happy I did! I love it!! I love all the outfits you put together and the combination’s you come up with. Oh and btw, I’m not much younger than you and I watch The City too (love it!!!) and I also watch 90210, One Tree Hill, Vampire Diaries and any other soapy teen drama I can find on tv, LOL. Summer – that feeeling of “playing grownup” doesn’t seem to go away the older we get (at least not for me!). I think it’s what keeps us youthful (my hubby says immature – but what does he know? He’s a crabby old man sometimes because he won’t let his inner kid come out to play!)
I’m not a TV watcher, but I totally get the stop in your tracks how am I this old with these kids thing. I love that you got a Forever21 certificate for your birthday. They have some dead cute holiday accessories. Go, go, go and enjoy being 16!!
Right there with ya sista! I certainly hope its all fake. I don’t buy into the whole Justin and Kristin thing. He’s gross and she’s wretched. But I do love it!
I’m the same as you- a big kid at heart. I’m 31 and LOVE The Hills & The City!!!! I agree w/ you about the aftershow w/ Kristen & Justin Bobbie- I think it is fake all for the cameras- The City is sooo good- I like Erin & Olivia always at each other throats- it’s funny.

The Hills has gotten so fake it’s hard for me to watch anymore…yet I still do…and I do like Kristin.
I actually prefer The City now. The back and forth between Olivia and Erin is awesome. And Whitney is so dense sometimes I just want to shake her!!
LOL, awww…the dichotomy! Just keep doing whatever makes you feel young. Wouldn’t hurt to let Jimmy know that either, he might reinstate a few of your television privileges, LOL!

I don’t watch either of those. I’m still depressed that Modern Family and Cougar Town were repeats last night.
i am missing all those shows, too. loved the finales of the hills and the city. whitney is my connection to NYC. i miss it so. anywho, you should check out Vampire Diaries {on CW} and The League {on FX}. love them both and they have eased my pain since Mad Men ended. CW is running a marathon on Vampire Diaries this week, into next week. it airs on Thursdays. take care.

ha! we’ve been trying to not watch tv in the evenings before bed because it just doesn’t make for a good nights sleep… maybe because we’re suckers for criminal minds…
i found a good book. and i’m in love with it right now.

I haven’t watched the season finale of The Hills yet. I kind of thought this whole season was crap. I hate Kristin and think Lauren was so much better! Everything just seems sooooo fake this time around. Heidi and Spencer drive me insane! Plus I’ve noticed that it’s now more of a show about three different groups of people because nobody semes to really interact anymore. Boo on that!
