Today I had the privilege of putting on a baby shower for one of my very bestest friends, Libby. I mean, besides being her BFF, her unborn son is also betrothed to Chloe, so it’s only fitting that a future mother-in-law host the shower. Right?
So, the colors were green and blue, and taking a cue from another one of my girlfriends, I decided to color coordinate with the shower.
Dress:
I bought this dress almost 4 years ago, and I think I’ve only worn it once. I got it from The Closet for around $20 and then once I washed it, I realized in order to wear it again I’d have to iron the hem. And the thing is I have this insane allergy to the iron. I think it came from when I was a teenager and I used to iron peoples clothes around the neighborhood for extra spending money. I must have got burned out, because ironing I do no longer. Well, except for today. For the special occasion of Libby’s shower, I took a chance on my life, and ironed away. I did start to feel a bit of hives, but whatever, it was worth it. I mean, it’s cute, right?
Necklaces:
Two are vintage chains from my thrift store, and the one with the clear beads was made for me by my girlfriend, Sarah.
Purse:
This is the grey MJ knockoff that I got from fashionjunkee.com. Love it.
Boots:
Get this, these babies are from my thrift store. And they are way way vintage. So much so, that I am going to bring them in to the shoe repair place to have the heels and the inside redone. They can do that, right? Because the fabric on the inside needs to G-O.
I have to say that my last trip to MTS {my thrift store} was a complete success. I got two amazing pairs of pants, a vintage red sequin purse, a long black vintage cardigan (which is what I set out to find by going) and several dressy tank tops . One of which is from Black House White Market. So, once they’re dry cleaned, I’ll be sure to feature them on Fashion Friday.
I’m telling you thrifting is my greatest thrill. I once even got Taylor a 100% cashmere argyle sweater. So freaking adorable. Oh, and for only $1.
So, tomorrow I have a meeting about my personal shopping business!!! I can’t wait till things are more finalized and I can share with you guys all the details. So fab, so fun!
Happy Weekending!

  1. Cute dress, I don’t iron either!

  2. great ensemble. love those boots. the minute i saw them i knew they were vintage. you must have great thrift stores. i don’t have great luck at any of our stores. my sis went into one and found a Burberry scarf. the one time i didn’t shop, right? still kicking myself almost 6 years later. i would love to be a personal shopper. i have a friend who lives in chino shorts and hiking shoes and cheapo v-necks from Kohls, same style just 10 different colors. she recently snatched up a M. Kors bag at TJMaxx for $150 down from like $4–something. at least i am rubbing off on her. she didn’t even know who Michael was. Have a great weekend and i look forward to your next fashion post.
