fashion sunday, swimsuit Help

So the mom in me is saying I need a one piece option as far as swimwear goes. Well, to be honest, it’s the stomach pooch that is speaking a little louder, forcing me to listen up.
I think I have it narrowed down to two…but I need advice and quick!
Which one do you like better?
This cute ruffle tankini from The ModBod, but in black:

Or this polka dot one piece from Retro Dress, only in black with white dots.

Here’s my thought process. The ruffles hide the tummy pooch quite well, especially on a day where I’ve consumed much to much chocolate or other said junk items.
But on the other side…the polka dot one is so retro and different. I just worry about my pooch.
Decisions, decisions.
Help a girl out, would ya?

  1. I love the first one. I saw a similar rendition @ Nordi’s. Love it β™₯ Check out my giveaway!

  2. I’m going with the first one, ’cause the polka-dot one is cut way to low for my thighs. It would not be flattering on me at all. Now from the pictures I’ve seen you have fantastic thighs, but I’d still go with #1.

Now, are you going to post a picture of yourself wearing the winner once you get it?

  3. I love the first, plus black is way slimming πŸ™‚

  4. #1..not because I truly believe you need to be considered about a pooch (unless it’s a four-legged one) but because I think it just screams ‘Summer’ AND summer!

  5. I LOVE the second one! It’s retro, yet fresh and fun all rolled into one… and what else does one need other than that! I’m thinking a little pouch would be hidden by the runching across the middle area. Wow I am so loving it that as I write I am thinking I just might have to get me one!!!

  6. Love both, but … oh, I can’t decide. they are both cute.

  7. Ohhh I love them both! I think number one seems more “Summer” though! Also, I think it would look cute to just throw on some shorts/jeans/skirt with it when you leave the pool or beach without looking trashy!

  8. I am totally in love with the second one! I think I may actually buy it- love!

  9. I’m not really feelin the top one. It looks more like a shirt to me than a bathing suit. I really like the second one. I think you could rock it and the scrunchy part over the abdomen would hide you so called pooch πŸ˜›

  10. Both super cute swimsuits but I like the first one, I love ruffles in general so I think its cute! Good luck deciding though!

  11. I really love the second one!!

  12. My vote is definitely for the polka dot one. I hear where you’re coming from with the pink one, but the polka dots are SO much cuter. Pretty much 1000 times cuter. πŸ™‚

  13. I like the polka dot one. It is so cute. It is my opinion but I think the ruffles are a bit much.

  14. Polkadots!

My favorite right now is this one:

Okay…it’s plus size… maybe not for you… but for me – perfect!

Found you through YAYA and just wanted to say hi!

  15. I think the first one is just adorable!

  16. Oh My Goodness…I LOVE the pink one…too cute for words! I’ve always been a bikini kind of girl..but i would totally wear the pink one! Go for it! You’d look totally cute in any of them though! Good luck!

  17. Summer,

Just to give you a guys opinion (not that you want it) but I like the second one. Love the polka dots and the retro look!

    Love and Prayers,

    Tim

  18. I can see you in either, they are both great choices. I vote for the first one, though.

  19. i love the first one, but in pink. however, the style now is retro which is the polka-dots. i would go with the polka-dots. i love the style too. i think the ruffles will add volume to your mid-section. take care and i hope you find the right one.

  20. I love the 2nd one. Too Stinkin cute!

  21. Oh… I can’t decide! They’re BOTH so awesome, can’t you just get two? πŸ™‚

Really though, if it were me, I’d go with the second one in a heartbeat. I’m not a huge ruffles fan, so I’m probably biased… but seriously, does it actually get any better than polka dots?!

  22. A.) you don’t have a pooch.

    B.) Retro fo sho.

  23. okay…I have a pooch. three c-sections and turned 40 this year. Iwould be afraid the ruffles would make me look fluffier, so I would go for the second because it is kind of scrunchy (around the middle) which kind of hides the pooch. I am always on the look out to hide the pooch. and its cute.

  24. I am not really a fan of the first but LOVE the second! It looks like it has a ruched effect at the stomach which is great for hiding a little tum ;)….I say the second!!
    xx

  25. Retro for sure, but they are both cute.

I think the first one would look odd when wet.

  26. If anyone could pull off the ruffled suit it would be you! πŸ™‚ oh, and I just saw yesterday that Costco has Modbe in stock right now!! (at the carmel mountain store)

  27. They’re both adorable. Buuuut…I’m going with numero dos…it’s amazing and I know you’d rock it like ya do.

  28. retro!

  29. Love the second one! I think you totally have the legs to pull it off! Such a cute look.

  30. Get ’em both. That’s my advice. πŸ™‚

They’re both great – so unique and stylish.

  31. I vote for the second one in all its retro-ness. I have trouble seeing the first one on anyone unless they are very tall and slim. If you are, then totally do it. You could rock the ruffles.
