why i wont be famous

Remember that video of the kid that was going around who just had his teeth pulled and he kept saying, “Is this real life?”
That’s what I found myself asking when I was watching I’m a Celebrity.
I also asked myself….Why is Heidi brushing her hair like that? And what is she spraying in her hair every five seconds? And why does Spencer refer to himself in the third person? That is just weird. And uncomfortable to watch actually.
I do however think Janice is pretty funny. And Frangela? They kinda found a place in my heart as well.
Anyway, so today I finally watched the premiere of Jon & Kate, and I have to say, I almost cried. Seriously, that is just so sad. They are a complete mess.
I mean, between Heidi & Spencer and Jon & Kate, do you even need more convincing that being famous isn’t all it’s cracked up to be?
Yes? Okay then. Here are just a few more reasons….

There, I feel I did my community service for the day. If I can save just one person from being famous, then I can rest peacefully.

  1. LOL! Really! Fame messes people up… we can do that easily enough on our own!

  2. You are so on point with this one. When I watched the seaon premier of Jon & Kate, it was simply uncomfortable to watch. I felt so bad for that family. I guess it doesn’t mean enough to them just to turn the cameras off and work on their family though. Scarry pics by the way. Poor Jacko!

  3. That’s it…I’m canceling the photo shoot later today, it’s just not worth the chance. Thanks Summer!

  4. Seriously! Who needs a life like that? No thank you very much!

  5. Good God…

Whitney Houston looks like a crack whore. She and Bobby Brown are finally right for each other.

“And if it ain’t good enough, good enough, baby…I smoke harder.”

PS – Hi Summer! Missing you!!

  6. You are sooooo right! No amount of money would be worth it to me!

  7. Poor John & Kate… sigh.

  8. This is the best public service announcement ever! It should go on TV.

  9. Truly wealthy people try to avoid the limelight.

You know, though, there are a lot of not wealthy not famous people who are also really messed up. I wonder if the percentage of messed up celebrities vs non messed up celebrities correlates with the percentage of messed up people in the regular population, you know, statistically? That would make a very interesting thesis. What would you have to be getting your masters in? A psychology and statistics combo? Or maybe political science, because you’d have to completely tight rope walk the fine line/art of saying that certain behavior isn’t normal, is truly messed up, without offending someone’s notion of PC. Right? Then you could do the psychological study and correlating statistical analysis.

    Or not.

  10. Those pictures were scary…hold me!

  11. Seriously. No desire to become famous at all. And wasn’t that Jon and Kate episode just the saddest thing? I’ve got the 2 new episodes from Monday to watch, too. I don’t know why I watch it. It irritates me, but I just can’t help but watch it.

  12. wow.

    just… wow.

thanks to you, I have decided not to be famous. I feel so much better. thanks.

  13. Thank you for the reminder … I shall stop my skyrocketing ride to fame now and get off and go back to being Obscure Housewife!

    Good post!

  14. I don’t want to be famous. I just want to be rich. Nothing wrong with that right?
