hair decisions: back to blonde or stay ombre?

In just a couple weeks I have a life changing decision to make.

Do I stay with the ombre I have going on?

or….do I go back to my blonde roots?
{which give me roots way more often….the only drawback.  sigh.}

I canNOT decide on this for the life of me.

On one side, I love that I can go longer between salon visits (which saves me $) because my roots aren’t so severe.
On the other side, I feel like having blonde next to my face makes me happier and lighter and like a real life blonde.
BUT….the roots show faster which makes appointments closer together.

You just can’t have it all, can you?
Or maybe some of you can, but that’s just not my real life.

So all you people who read and don’t comment, now’s not the time to be shy.
I need your help.
Ombre for another few months, or go back to blonde now?

Ready….
Set….
Be opinionated.
{but kind}

  1. I’m one of those readers, non-commenters…but I say Blonde! It lightens il your complexion and brightens your whole face.

  2. I like it both ways (I’m really no help, aren’t I?).

If it were me though, I’d stick with the ombre simply because of the roots issue.

  3. I love the ombre LOVE IT!!!! Very sexy but you look gorgeous blonde too.

  4. what a tough decision. My vote is blond again! I think both looks are lovely, but you look awesome blond!

  5. I just started reading again after taking a long time off from reading blogs, but…..I love the blonde!!!!

  6. I just started reading again after taking a long time off from reading blogs, but…..I love the blonde!!!!

  7. I’m a hairdresser… My vote is go for a blonde, but go a touch warmer than those photos, maybe a shade darker… Then it will last longer… I’m not a big fan of the Ombré look… Looks like you haven’t had time to get your hair fixed in 6 months. My 2 cents.

  8. You look great both ways, my friend, but I prefer what you have goin’ on now…:) ombre is my vote.

  9. I’m a hairdresser… My vote goes to blonde, but i’d say go warmer and one shade darker than the photos, that way it will last longer! I’m not a big fan of Ombre… Looks like you need a visit to a salon, not that you just paid hundreds of dollars to look that way. My 2 cents!

  10. Love the Ombré! Never have been keen on the “bright blonde” look. If you go blonde, I agree with Nickie, the hairdresser. Go a bit warmer. You’re so beautiful, but IMO, the bright blonde washes you out. I think going a touch warmer would look amazing.

  11. Having done the ombre, I know why you like it…but if you are up in the air, it’s cuz you want a change. they both look great, but you feel the need for more blonde, don’t you?!?!

Ombre saves money and is hip, but you live in sunny California, I would be a blonde EVERYDAY if I lived there!

  12. I think deep down you want to be blonde too. Having been brunette before I know how this is- you miss the blonde! But I like the idea os a shade darker. Easier on your hair and cheaper for maintenance. Try coloring it yourself! It’s really not hard. Or if you just want a change maybe let your bangs grow out for a softer look.

  13. Ombre! You look equally as beautiful as both, but I think ombre is so much fun and there’s no one here that can do it well, so I’m living vicariously through you! 🙂

  14. I love the blonde! Makes me want to go get my ‘do bleached STAT!

  15. You could always do more highlights which would make you blonder but you still wouldn’t have to go to the salon as often. Having said that, I think with your hair really blonde you look more washed out that with the darker color.

  16. I vote for Ombre. I like the mix and warmth more. You do suit both but Ombre, or go for a slightly less high-maintenance blonde. I’ve been very blonde before but would never return because I haven’t go the patience or time. xx

  17. I vote for Ombre. I like the mix and warmth more. You do suit both but Ombre, or go for a slightly less high-maintenance blonde. I’ve been very blonde before but would never return because I haven’t go the patience or time. Just get a few foils of brigher blonde around the face to cheer you up. I do think the Ombre is more flattering on your skin and looks funkier and more youthful than going too blonde. xx
ps sorry if I posted twice. My comment form is a mess

  18. I’m not usually into the whole blonde thing but you rock it. A few blogs ago I saw a picture of you without bangs and I was taken aback. You’re gorgeous no matter what you do but I’m just speaking le truth.

  19. Hey Girl~

You look fabulous both ways– but I like ombre look more-maybe it’s b/c I’m still rocking my ombre hair–

    Have a great week!

  20. WOW!

    Look at all of you!

    People!

    Who comment!!!

I am just OVER THE MOON about this.

    And your opinions of course.

A decision has been made….stay tuned! xoxo

  21. Sorry to be late to comment, but I am loving the darker colors, especially in the winter, and especially on you 🙂 save the super blonde for the summer 😉 lol

  23. Blonde. Bc that is how you were colored when I fell in love with you. 🙂

  24. I’m not going to help you when I say this, but I love both looks on you. So, good luck with that.

  25. okay, so I’ve been a lurker here for quite awhile. In fact, I hardly ever leave comments ANYWHERE. And I know you’ve already made up your mind, but here is my two cents:

Darker. Go darker! And then add some blond highlights. (What I mean by darker is match your eyebrows) and then add the highlights. :o)

And on another note since I’m actually leaving a comment: Thank you for being so transparent about your life. The good. The bad. The anxiety. The “issues”. Although my heart breaks for you when you are going through a rough patch, it’s good to see someone share openly about what they are struggling with. There are so many people out there who struggle and think they are doing it alone, or are the only ones, and you could be helping them just by opening yourself up.

So now I’ve commented. And you know I’m a lurker. Dagnabit, I hope this doesn’t start a trend! ;o)
