flocked trees and resolutions

With the tough few months (year?) I’ve had recently, I needed something to brighten up my days now that the holidays are here
So this year, we decided on a flocked tree, and I couldn’t be happier.

It’s amazing to me that already we are halfway through the month, and just WEEKS away from a New Year.
And I, for one, am SO ready for 2012.
I’m totally one of those “resolutions” people too.
I get giddy at the thought of hope and change and growing in areas I’ve been struggling or weak.
And so I make a list for different areas of my life, write out my goals, and keep it close.
And if by the end of the year, I’ve been able to check off even one, I consider it a success.
What about you guys?
What’s making you happy this Christmas season, and are you prepping for the New Year You?

  1. This year, the holidays have really sucked for me, too… We can’t afford a whole lot for Christmas this year {we finally got a house, but it’s sucking us dry!!}, but I’m trying to keep in mind that it’s not about the big expensive gifts. It’s about the family being together, healthy and happy.

I think one of my biggest things in the coming year is going to be in working on renewing and strengthening my faith. I’m pretty sure that’s the only thing that’s going to get me through. It’s going to be a tough year to come, as well…

  2. I’m new to your blog and I love your honesty and style 🙂

I’m a big New Year resolution girl and i’m with you Brandi, strengthening my faith is high on my list. I’ve been too busy and have lost sight of what means the most to me.

I also have New Year’s Pilates program on my website that will keep me on track for my fitness goals. I’m really excited about that!

I also want to be more intentional in my friendships. Gotta spend more time with my girls 🙂

  3. Thank you Robyn!!!

And Brandy, I’m sorry life’s been rough for you too….but God is good, and if we stay faithful, He will work out all things.

One of my goals is to be more like Michelle Duggar. =) How does she stay so sweet and calm and in love with her kids?!? ha ha

  4. Okay that tree is gorg. I love the “snow” on the tips of it! 🙂 beautiful! Happy I found your blog, you and your family are adorable!

  5. This has NOT been a good season for me….I keep trying to find that Christmas spirit and it keeps eluding me. I don’t usually do resolutions (because I over-think it and over-resolve) but yes, I am ready to put 2010-2011 behind me. And have hope that 2012 will be THE year.

  6. The tree looks beautiful! Your family picture…gorgeous! I am ready for the new year! I hope that a new year brings many people blessings and health.
