diy backsplash/tiles for your kitchen

I’m always looking for ways to change things up in my apartment,
especially when I am getting antsy to move to a house….
So, this weekend I decided it was time to change the print of my homemade backsplash tiles that I made when we first moved in a year ago.
I just love how something so small, simple, and easy can completely change a look!

As my taste often changes,
I recently found myself not so much a fan of bright orange.
Instead I wanted something a little more classic and simple….
If you want to attempt something like this yourself,
here are the quick and easy steps:

so if you haven’t entered,
it’s not too late!!!

  1. What a cute idea! I wish that the only IKEA that we have in OH wasn’t 2 hours away from where I live. I can’t wait till we can re-do our kitchen. I love it but the cabinets are awful! And the counter top too…

  2. It came out really cute – nice job!
    Have a great day!

  4. fun! what a great idea for when you can’t make any permanent changes!!! have you seen those stick’em removable backsplash tiles…i saw some silver tin type ones that were so cute and fun! i thought about doing those in my next house if we are in need of a backsplash spruce up!

  5. Looks really good- I love damask look! Have a great week girl!

  12. I love damask and I’m not a big fan of orange in homes, but I love the first one-the color really does pop! Maybe you can add some red accents to the damask-like some flowers or funky vases 🙂

  18. I love it! And I’d totally be all over this project if it weren’t for our lame blue counter tops. NOTHING goes with our lame blue counter tops. Except for maybe wrapping paper with ducks all over it… ducks with little blue bandannas… And let’s just say I’m not so fond of that idea. Ahem.

I officially envy your kitchen. YUM.

  19. Very creative. I dig it!!

  20. What a great idea to spice things up in a kitchen!! PS- I got the pants and they fit! 🙂
